The Art and Science of Embalming (Library Reference Edition) by Carl Lewis Barnes. Embalmers' Monthly. (No date). 6" x 9" xviii, 552 pages Hardcover with no dust jacket. Bright silver lettering on front cover and spine. Light cover edge wear. A few pin-sized drops on the bottom of the front cover. Some bumping to cover tips. Binding has separated inside both front and back covers. Erasure marks inside the front cover. Also some smudging inside front and back covers. Light tanning to edges of the page block. I find no other previous owner markings, but I may have missed some imperfections. There are a number of page corner creases. I believe this publication may have been written around 1900. I see some references to developments that were considered recent at the time, and none that I see are later than 1900. There are numerous plates, both in color and in black and white. The first chapter is a bit interesting because it has talks about. Premonition of death and the signs of impending death. Also discussed are the changes to the body after death.
