Gilt lettering on spine is faded, but still legible. Gilt lettering on front cover is still quite bright. Cover wear is generally moderate, but it is heavy at the top and bottom of the spine. On the bottom of the spine is a small strip of cloth which separated from the book that has now been glued back. There is still a little bit of cloth missing there. There are some light abrasions to the cover of the book. On the first blank page is the previous owner's name in pencil, and some erasure marks on the top corner. I found a little bit of pencil underlining within the text, but not very much. Binding is tight with no looseness to pages and no separation.
