Published in 1934 ‘Slim’ was based on Hain’s experience as a lineman. Part adventure tale, part social commentary it’s mixture of adventure & Depression-era social commentary won Haines popular & critical acclaim. This hardcover edition includes lovely illustrations by Robert Lawson, which paperback editions do not. In 1937 ‘Slim’ was adapted for the film starring Henry Fonda.
