An Itinerant House and Other Stories by Emma Frances Dawson. William Doxey. 1897. 4 1/2" x 7" 320 page Hardcover with no dust jacket. Gilt lettering and decoration on front cover and spine is somewhat faded, but still quite legible. Cover wear is somewhat heavy in places. There is a black spot on the back cover. Book is slightly cocked. Newspaper clippings announcing author's death are glued inside front cover. "Even in her most macabre stories, however, Miss Dawson never imagined a tragedy so complete as the eclipse of her own life...." is stated in one of the clippings. (You will have to buy the book to see what they mean.) "M.S.W./1896" is written in blue colored pencil on the first blank page. Also there is tanning shadow from the newspaper clippings. Some heavy foxing on the first few pages and bits of foxing through out the book. I did find a few page corner folds. I see no other previous owner markings. Binding is tight with no looseness to pages. Not ex-library, not remaindered and not a facsimile reprint. For sale by Jon Wobber, bookseller since 1978. IE23a
