Jerry of the Islands by Jack London. First printing

Jerry of the Islands by Jack London. MacMillan Company. 1917. "Set up and electrotyped. Published, April, 1917" stated with no listing of later printings. With 2 errors: on page 45, line 4 "jnmping" for "jumping" and page 323, line 7 "Vila" for "Villa". (My Sisson & Martens says the "Vila" error is on page page 333. The Sisson error made the Macmillan error difficult to find.) 5 1/4" x 7 3/4" 337 page hardcover with no dust jacket. Bright gilt lettering on front cover. Gilt lettering on spine is somewhat faded, but still quite legible. Book is slightly cocked. Moderate cover edge wear. There is a dark color to the top of the page block that I believe is published. Previous owner name in heavy pencil inside front cover. Previous owner information in ink on first blank page. Light foxing inside back cover. No other previous owner markings. No tears, folds or creases to pages. Binding is tight with no looseness to pages. Not ex-library, not remaindered and not a facsimile reprint. Book has a mylar wrap-around with about a 1" tear. For sale by Jon Wobber, bookseller since 1978. IE14a
