The back flap of the dust jacket talks about Mrs. Gleick spending "most of her time being a wife and mother" with two small children. One of those children when this book was written, was a six year old James Gleick who would go on to write books on the history of science, physics, and on the perception of time. One can guess that this book, which is about the concept of time, may have been an influence.
